The 1740 House guarantees to make every effort to accommodate your needs during your stay and prior to your arrival. We understand that your travel plans may change unexpectedly and you may need to cancel or change your reservation. Please find our policies below.
Guests may cancel their reservation up to 2 weeks prior to their arrival date. All deposits will be refunded at the time of cancellation minus a 10% credit card processing charge.
If guests cancel their reservation less than 2 weeks prior to their arrival but more than 24 hours in advance, their deposit will not be refunded.
If guests cancel their reservation less than 24 hours prior to their arrival, they will be charged in full for their room.
Guests’ Confirmed Reservations may be rebooked prior to 2 weeks before their scheduled arrival for an alternative date, pending availability, at no charge. Reservations may be rescheduled up to 12 months in advance of the original confirmed reservation’s arrival date. The 1740 House makes no guaranteed that preferred alternate dates will be available however.
Other Room Policies:
Due to the Inn’s close proximity to the Delaware River and Canal, children under the age of 14 are not permitted to stay at the Inn unless approved prior to arrival. All children and young adults must be under adult supervision at all times.
All rooms at the inn are non-smoking. Failure to comply with non-smoking restrictions may result in additional cleaning fees or charges added to a guest’s bill.
Additional fees may be assessed due to damage, theft or wilful abuse of 1740 House property.
Room keys must be returned at check out. Guests will be charged for lost keys.
No pets are permitted in any rooms. Except when required by applicable law.
Public areas of the Inn, including parking areas and communal gathering places, are subject to video surveillance.
