There are no “garden view” rooms at the 1740 House Inn. Every room is Delaware River waterfront, with views that will knock you off your feet. And across the river is nothing but conserved land. There is not a house or a building in sight. You can look across and see the far shore as George Washington did, just before he crossed the Delaware a few miles south of here.
Our location is unmatched—every room is waterfront and every river view is natural.
Each guest room has been newly remodeled with beautiful furnishings and the most up-to-date amenities. All rooms have a private bathroom, televisions are tucked away in armoires handcrafted by a local woodworker, in-room telephones and Internet access in most of the rooms make it easy to communicate with the outside world, but most of our guests prefer communing with nature in one of our terry cloth robes from a comfortable chair overlooking the river.
Oh yes, did we mention the private balconies, the riverfront swimming pool, and the delicious cocktails?

Grand Suite
Located on the Second Floor of the Main House is our large Grand Suite which includes a Living area, Dining area, Master bedroom with King size bed, large Balcony sitting on the edge of the canal, and 180° panoramic views of the Delaware River. Amenities include a side bar with refrigerator, Private Bath, Air, Heat, Television, and Phone. A Country Breakfast is provided with room. This room can also be converted to accommodate Corporate meetings for up to 24 people.

Junior Suite
Located in the lower portion of the original barn is our Small Suite which includes a Sitting area, Dining area, King size bed and Terrace sitting on the edge of the canal overlooking the Delaware River. This room is perfect if staying with us for a period of time. Amenities include Private Bath, Air, Heat, Television, and Phone. A Country Breakfast is provided with room.

Deluxe Rooms
Nine Riverfront Deluxe rooms, each with Private Bath, Balcony/Terrace, Television, Phone, in-room heating and cooling. Six of these Deluxe rooms also have Remote Controlled Gas Fireplaces. A Country Breakfast is provided with room.

This room has a shared Balcony with room 14 (ideal for two couples traveling together) sitting on the edge of the canal overlooking the Delaware River, and one of our best views of the river and foot bridge.
